Isaac Hooley, PhD (he/him) is a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Health Service Provider
with a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Iowa. He completed a post-
doctoral fellowship at the UIowa Telepsychology Training Clinic, where he provided
telepsychology services to rural Iowans. Isaac works primarily with adults using Acceptance
and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a framework for therapy, which means he works alongside
clients as they practice becoming more flexible in how they respond to difficult thoughts and
feelings.  From this approach, therapy can be focused on building skills for better awareness
and self-regulation, exploring the stories we use to make sense of who we are and what we
have experienced, and using the safe and non-judgmental space of therapy to explore things
that we might otherwise avoid. He has experience working alongside people navigating life
transitions such as grief and loss, job loss or shift, emerging health conditions or pain, identity
exploration, and taking on a new role such as becoming a parent or retiring from full-time work.
He also works with concerns such as stress management, depression, anxiety, interpersonal
and relationship concerns, and religious and spirituality concerns. Isaac believes that who you
are and what you value is vitally important in the work of therapy, and he strives to approach
differences with humility and openness.
